Perhaps this is not appropriate for a family blog, but in the rss feed, here is what I see

Ok, I have a confession. I make a crappy margarita. What’s that you say? You live in San Diego, 30 miles or so from the border – you of all people – with your love of cocktails and spicy Mexican food this should have been something in your arse...

That doesn't sound a little strange, it sounds a lot strange! It also sounds worth trying.

You don't have to make a good margarita when you live that close to the border. :)

I must say that this margarita sounds strange, but oddly enticing. I'll have to try it!
I'm way skeptical of anything involving carrots, and especially carrot juice, but I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt—and try this <g>.

Also, the fact that you just linked Imbibe Magazine means you're even cooler than I thought you were. Wow.
really? carrot juice and cumin? huh... definitely not something i'd add into my margarita...

i just like to go to restaurants and have them make margs FOR me.

ps - i have a thing against carrot juice. heh. my mom used to make fresh carrot juice and make us drink it... it wouldn't have been bad if it was JUST carrot juice. but she added all sorts of weird and disgusting veggies into it. *shudder* i haven't had carrot juice since i moved out of her house. phew.
Cumin...tends to do good things to food. Dont drink so not sure about that!!!
Hm... that sounds awful. But I love Imbibe so it must be decent, if you say so. If you make a bad (regular) margarita, couldn't you just add another ingredient to get it right? E.g., too sweet - add some lime juice and/or tequila; too hot, add some lime juice or cointreau....?
I can't made a good margarita either. By hand or from a mix. I'm not sure I like tequila at all actually, have yet to have a really good drink made with it. I've got most of these ingredients...I'm going to have to get the missing carrot juice and give this a shot.
Jay -- I'm afraid that there might be other connotations about receiving Imbibe... :) (though I do think its kind of cool...)

You know, grrrace, I don't think I have ever had carrot juice before. I was never very interested in it, thinking it was just for those Jimbo's/Whole Foods types of super-healthy eaters.

Getting to combine it with tequila certainly made my first try of it pretty good! :D

Hapa -- you'd think that just adding a dash of this or that and I'd be able to correct my bad margarita's, but I never have been able to get it quite right -- and as a chemist, that's vaguely appalling to me.

I've found occasionally that I like tequila a little too much. I hope you have a chance to try it -- I hope I'm not steering you down the wrong path.

Maybe you're just a perfectionist... I love it. You and my honey should have a margarita-making contest. I'll judge.

I'll have to try it, we are still loving the Screwdriver recipie from your blog.
I made this for Cinco de Beat Box and it was...interesting. I think I needed to add more cumin to the one that I drank but the other party goers seemed to like it. I'll have to try it again at another party.

That sounds fantastic. :) I don't know how I missed this but I'll have to get to the liquor store and get ingredients so I can try this too.
